Presents and Prayers January 11, 2007 9:50 PM
I do apologize for being so lax in keeping everyone updated with the escapades of our Empress. She had a wonderful Christmas, although she enjoyed passing out the gifts as much as receiving them. Last year she couldn't be convinced to tear off the wrapping paper and open her presents, but this year she happily opened her packages. She got lots of toys and books, but her favorite present was a package of underwear! She took her panties around for everyone to see. She's just gone through the process of "potty training" and is very proud of her "big girl panties". Although I did find a perfectly good pair of her panties in the trash the other night. I've learned to check the trash before discarding it! (No more coaxing from you, Yvette!)
I've been really wanting for Juliana to get scheduled for an appointment with her surgeon in Miami—well, wanting it and dreading it at the same time. The tubing in her nose has advanced forward to the extent that it's a problem. It makes it very difficult to get into her mouth, to suction and to give her mouth care. I'm so glad it's going to be changed out. Other than that, we won't know what Dr. Wolf is going to do until he decides, after he examines her and sees how she is progressing.
The Wetmores will leave this Sun. (Jan.14th) and be gone at least a week. Juliana will be at Miami Children's Hospital. The 1st part of the week will be for tests, so they will be staying in a hotel until Thurs. when Juliana will be admitted for the surgical procedures. We will keep you informed as to what is being done and how Juliana is doing. So, this is a time of apprehension, but it will be another step in the process of making things better for Juliana.
Thanks everyone, for your prayers and concern. —Jeanne ("Party")
