Amazed Again January 20, 2007 9:30 AM
I don't know how she does it. I see this child every moment of every day and yet she still amazes me after almost four years.
We are home from Miami already. She was released from the hospital on Friday
afternoon. We packed up the car and headed north as quickly as we could. We made it home a little after midnight last night. She is settled back into life
already. She and Kendra are already fighting over toys.
I am assuming that it is going to take a couple of weeks for all of the swelling to go down and her incisions to heal up. As soon as she is ready she is going to be going back to school. I really hope she
holds on to this "don't tell me I can't" attitude.
I can almost guarantee that there will be funny stories to tell very soon. I will post them as soon as I can. —Tami

Surgery Update January 18, 2007 6:00 PM
We are one step further along in our very long marathon. Surgery today went very well. Dr. Wolfe changed the tubes in Juliana's nose. She has much
smaller diameter ones in now. They look very nice compared to the dirty, gross ones that he removed. He
also applied the hardware to her lower jaw for a distraction. This one is a little different than we are used to. This one is an internal distraction. Most of the hardware is internal except for the small
screws that are protruding from her chin area. She is still in quite a bit of pain and very irritable. Can't say that I blame her! She is doing very well
though. We are just managing the pain with some morphine for now and trying to keep her comfortable. We are expecting to return home on Saturday possibly if all goes as expected.
I better wrap this up for tonight. The waiting room is starting to fill up and I feel a little out of place. I don't speak the national language of Miami!
Keep checking back for updates and I will post again as soon as I have the opportunity. —Tami
