Juliana in Class September 05, 2006 4:47 PM
What an amazing month it has been since school started. Juliana has adjusted very well to school. She wakes up every morning (even on the weekends) and signs "ready for school." Everyone at the school is just fantastic with her. The kids have all embraced her and welcome her each day. I couldn't have asked for better teachers for her. And her nurse, Margaret is incredible too.
Juliana makes sure that everyone is doing as they should during class. She is pretty much running the class! If someone does not have their hand on their heart during the pledge of allegiance she makes sure to point them out. The teachers always have funny stories to share when I go to class to pick her up. Sometimes I think they sing certain songs or do certain thing to see how Juliana will react so they can get a laugh.
One of her favorite things to do is to pretend that she is the teacher. During free time she will make the teachers and Margaret sit on the carpet (in their designated spots) and she will use the books and the props to tell stories just as the teachers have done. I think she may be a bit of a control freak, but I can't begin to imagine where she gets it from.
The girls had a great surprise last week. Daddy was able to come home for a few days. He was in transition between deployment sites. Now we will not see him again until December. This is not typical for deployments, but it was a nice change.
We are going to continue to push on through the school year and during all of my "ME TIME" (ha ha, what was I thinking) while the girls are at school, hopefully I will have a chance to update more often. —Tami
